
Jennifer was always dreaming of becoming a multi-tasking superstar. In her youth she discovered a wide range of genres of music, but she particularly enjoyed Afro-Caribbean styles like salsa merengue, bachata and merengue, as well as mainstream music like pop, hip-hop and R&B. Though she was a huge fan of music, her fascination with the film industry is just as strong. The biggest influence on her was Rita Moreno musical, West Side Story (1961). At 5, Jennifer began taking singing and dancing lessons. In addition to being an performer Jennifer became a Catholic schoolgirl, attending eight years of the Catholic elementary school named Holy Family located on The Bronx, before graduating from an all girls prep school, Preston High School after four years of attendance. Jennifer, a talented athlete who competed in the track and field as well as tennis in school, was an excellent pupil. Then, in Castle Hill, she spent her early years in a two-story house. Jennifer was the first to leave her parents' house at 18 , to leave. Lopez worked in a law practice in this time, while performing dance at night.
